Why does my supplier/manufacturer need the names of all of the owners of my company?

It is important for suppliers and manufacturers to understand the ownership structure of credit applicants. Depending on the legal structure of the applicant, the owners may or may not be liable for the entity's debts and unpaid bills.

But regardless of the legal entity type, credit departments are responsible for gathering the name of each owner of the entity, no matter how small the ownership. And even for silent partners. Getting a full and complete ownership list, gives the credit department confidence in the business entity and help them establish a record of success or failure at the company. Ultimately, this will allow the credit provider to make a more informed credit decision.
